Want to leave a mark in the vibrant, fast-paced fashion industry? Our Bachelor of Fashion Business program at the Holmes Institute offers a comprehensive curriculum to shape you into a leader in this highly competitive field.

We offer a comprehensive Fashion Business bachelor course, primed to equip you with the essential know-how to jumpstart your career. As a result, our alums become successful fashion marketers, creative directors, buyers, skilled merchandisers, stylists, e-commerce managers, and more.

Designed to be completed over six trimesters full-time, our program is built around a comprehensive curriculum covering everything from business fundamentals to fashion design. By the time you graduate, you'll have completed 24 units and be ready to take on any challenge the fashion business can throw your way.

Bachelor of Fashion Business (CRICOS 075515G)

This course ensures our students are ready for a career in the creative industry by providing students with a range of learning modalities throughout the course. We focus on preparing our students for the variety of other roles that exist in the fashion industry (and there are many!).

Theoretical classes are combined with dynamic workshops that push students to think reflexively. Students put theory into practice with work experience opportunities including working on events such runway shows, photoshoots and industry events.

Students will develop a strong foundation of skills and knowledge  through a blend of creative and business subjects. Through a blend of creative subjects like design, photography, and editorial writing, alongside business-oriented courses such as marketing, branding, and entrepreneurship, students will gain the tools and insights needed to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of media and fashion industries

Advance your skills through small class sizes and individual support at Holmes Institute. Our dedicated industry placement service gives you the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to hone your skills.

The Bachelor of Fashion Business course is designed to provide students with a wide breadth of knowledge of different aspects of management and business. The course meets the Australian Qualifications Framework specifications for a Level 7 Bachelor degree.

Accordingly, the graduates of the Bachelor of Fashion Business will be able to:

  • Work successfully in both independent and group settings to evaluate, analyse and apply business theory and practice for real world fashion and business scenarios.
  • Effectively communicate independent insights and ideas, using verbal, written and visual modes, to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Contextualise and apply fashion and creative business knowledge and skills in different environments reflecting various cultural, societal sustainable, ethical, economic, and global perspectives.
  • Exercise judgement and critical thinking in identifying problems, integrating new practices and technologies and in developing fashion and creative business strategies.
  • Utilise a range of digitally based technologies to support decision making and to create solutions for fashion and creative business issues.

Entry Requirements

Holmes Institute Fashion do not require a minimum ATAR rank.

Instead, eligibility for admission is assessed through the candidate’s desire and commitment to success as demonstrated through an interview, personal statement, and/or portfolio.

To be eligible to apply you need to meet ONE of the below criteria:

  • Successfully completed the Victoria Certificate of Education (VCE) OR the High School Certificate (HSC) OR
  • Successfully completed an interstate or New Zealand equivalent to VCE and HSC OR
  • Successfully completed an international Year 12 equivalent OR
  • Successfully completed an approved Tertiary PreparationProgram, Tertiary Orientation Program, or a Foundation Year program offered by an accredited institution of higher education OR
  • Successfully completed one year of full-time study at an approved Institute of Tertiary education.

And

  • Have a demonstrated English proficiency at or above IELTS score of 6 in all components. (International students only).

Special Entry Requirements

Applicants who do not fulfil the educational requirements above may be considered eligible for admission if they have a significant work record or demonstrated record of professional practice.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as per usual, providing a personal resume with a detailed work history in addition to the standard supporting documents.

Applicants are encouraged to submit other evidence that demonstrates relevant skills or knowledge to support their application, but this is not an admissions requirement.

2024 Total Course Fees: $48,000

Each individual unit costs $2000. You must successfully complete 24 units to complete the degree.

You may be eligible for FEE-HELP

The Bachelor of Fashion Business is supported supported by the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP scheme for eligible students. This means that for students studying under the FEE-HELP scheme, we don’t require upfront payments for course fees.

You may be eligible to apply for a FEE-HELP loan, which can be used to defer payment of your tuition fees.

Our Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business degree leads to employment in any number of business, management or administration-related roles.
